1. Scope of Engineering Services
BM Embedded provides professional embedded software, Linux kernel, device driver, and hardware engineering services. Specific project milestones, deliverables, hardware platform requirements, target acceptance criteria, and timelines are executed pursuant to custom Statements of Work (SOW) mutually agreed between parties.
2. Intellectual Property Rights & Ownership
- Client Ownership: Upon milestone completion and settlement of contracted invoices, all bespoke source code, device tree overlays, custom driver patches, and schematic deliverables created exclusively for the client are the full intellectual property of the client.
- Open Source Compliance: Linux kernel modifications and GPL/LGPL licensed modules are maintained and delivered in full compliance with upstream open-source licensing mandates.
- Proprietary Technologies: Proprietary firmware algorithms and hardware architectures underlying the ScanPro X1 terminal remain the intellectual property of BM Embedded Solutions.
3. Evaluation Kits & Pilot Deployments
Loaned or pilot evaluation units of the ScanPro X1 are provided for testing, ergonomics validation, and facility integration feasibility. Pilot units must be utilized in accordance with recommended operating parameters (-20°C to +50°C) and returned or converted to commercial fleet orders in accordance with the pilot agreement.
4. Engineering Warranties & Disclaimers
We warrant that engineering deliverables are developed using industry best practices and validated against agreed hardware specifications. Due to the diverse nature of silicon revisions, custom carrier boards, and peripheral combinations, software components are tested strictly on targeted benchmark setups specified in each project scope.
